2026 Election Dates & Deadlines
Primary Election: Tuesday, August 18, 2026
- Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Early Voting: August 8 to 15, 2026, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Voter Registration / Party Change Deadline: July 20, 2026
- Vote-by-Mail Ballot Request Deadline: 5 p.m., August 6, 2026
General Election: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Early Voting: October 22 to 31, 2026, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Voter Registration Deadline: October 5, 2026
- Vote-by-Mail Ballot Request Deadline: 5 p.m., October 22, 2026
Two Things to Check in 2026
New Congressional District Map. About 173,000 Collier voters are affected by the new U.S. congressional district map and will receive a new Voter Information Card. Confirm your district and polling place at colliervotes.gov.
Florida holds closed primaries. You must be registered with a party to vote in that party’s primary. Update your party affiliation at CollierVotes.gov/OVR at least 29 days before the primary. A party change cannot be made at the polling place.
On the November 3, 2026 – Ballot
- Statewide Property Tax / Homestead Exemption Amendment (CS/HJR 1F): expands the homestead exemption (phasing toward $250,000) and restricts how local governments may use property tax revenue. Requires 60 percent voter approval.
- Proposed additional 1% Tourist Development Tax: paid by visitors on hotel and short-term-rental stays, not residents. County fact sheet: collierTDT.com.
