Professional Women in Building
The Collier County council of NAHB Professional Women in Building, chartered under CBIA. Builders, trades, designers, engineers, suppliers, lenders, and everyone who keeps a job moving. If you work in this industry here, this is for you.
Why a chapter here, and why now
Professional Women in Building is a national council of the National Association of Home Builders. There are chapters across the country. There has not been one in Collier County. We are changing that.
The women in this market already run projects, pull permits, close loans, seal drawings, spec finishes, and sign contracts. What has been missing is a room where they are in the same place at the same time, on purpose, with a reason to help each other.
The chapter sits inside CBIA, which means it plugs into an association that already has advocacy, education, and community programs running. We are not starting from nothing. We are giving an existing engine a seat it has been missing.
The council is chartered and the committee is seated, chaired by Cali Clardy. Year one is about three things: get people in the room, build committees that actually show up, and pick one community project we can finish well.
Quarterly gatherings where you leave with names and numbers, not a goodie bag.
Licensing, code, business, and leadership sessions taught by people who do the work.
Pairing women earlier in their careers with women who have already been through it.
Getting into local schools and trade programs so the next group knows this is an option.
One local build or community project a year that the chapter owns start to finish.
