Over the past month or so, the Sales & Marketing Committee has been discussing the possibility of adding an Out-of-Market category to the 2012 Sand Dollar Awards. After much discussion at the committee level and with the board’s blessing to do so, we have decided to move forward with the idea in the hopes that it might generate some additional interest for the Sand Dollar Awards.

Eligible participants would include those with entries that lie outside our Collier/South Lee counties area. Anyone who is a member in good standing can submit entries in the following Out-of-Market categories:

• Best Product Design of the Year (This would not be broken out by product, price or builder, architect, etc.)
• Best Community Feature of the Year (This would include clubhouses or other amenities, pools, landscaping, etc.)
• Best Interior Design of the Year (This would not be broken out by category and could include homes, condos, clubhouses, sales centers, etc.)
• Best Commercial Project of the Year
• Best Remodeling Project of the Year
• Best Marketing Campaign (This would also be all-inclusive and would not be broken out by logo design, website design, brochure design, etc.)

It was decided that for those categories noted above, should the Sand Dollar judging committee receive less than two entries per category, the category would be eliminated and the entrant’s fee refunded.

So for all of you builders, remodelers, designers, trades, subcontractors and agencies out there with great work to showcase from other markets, here is your chance for the world (or at least Sand Dollar Award attendees and followers) to see what you’ve got. Good luck!
